On Friday our golf team
took part in an interhouse competition at Boughton golf club. This event
is a fully funded event from the Charles Harris legacy funding, which
enables our students to receive some specialist golf coaching lessons
prior to the competition
day as well as participating in a number of mini competitions throughout
the day. This included nearest the pin a putting competition and stroke
play over 9 holes.
Lilly cook is continuing to develop as a young golfer and she won the
overall competition and also took first place in the putting. Closely
followed by Stanley Griffiths who took 2nd in the putting competition
and played consistently well throughout the day.
Bertie Steward won nearest the pin.
This is a sport that many other comprehensive schools are not able to
offer to their students due to financial constraints and other school
commitments. This is a fantastic opportunity for our students and a
sport that is continuing to grow in our KS3 and KS4
extra-curricular provision.
