A team of rugby players from The Canterbury Academy won their county sevens competition on Wednesday 11th March. The side were entered into the emerging schools event due to the relative inexperience of our school rugby compared to more established rugby playing schools from Kent.
Our players train regularly under the supervision of Nicky Little and his coaching team of Matt Corker and Sam Sterling. Every day, they train over at The Langton and their commitment and dedication has paid off with this excellent achievement in the county sevens tournament held at Gravesend.
The team came through the entire competition undefeated and beat the following schools on their route to winning.
- Bennett Memorial
- Dane Court GS
- Oakwood Park GS
- Harris Academy
- Kent College
The team was made up of the following students.
- James Leather
- Harry Wakeford
