Dear parents, carers, staff and students,

It’s us again! With a wonderful new project, for a wonderful reason, but we need help from you wonderful people!

As you know, Friday 8 May is the 75th anniversary of VE (Victory in Europe) Day.

This year, more than ever, we think it’s important to remember those that came before us and what they did for us and our families.

We are going to record a performance of  Vera Lynn’s ‘We’ll Meet Again’ to commemorate the occasion, and be thankful for what we have and those we have lost.

The lyrics of this song are particularly apt at this present time and speak to us in a way perhaps they never have before. This creation will give us the opportunity, once again, to thank those around us and our families and friends.

Your mission is to sing your hearts out, to camera, emailing the videos onto Sarah Watson, as usual, or, if you are a musician, play along with your instrument of choice.

We need to prepare this slightly differently this time, as specific lines will be allocated to you, should you wish to participate. And we really hope you do participate – the more of us delivering this beautiful message the better!

Please email: swatson@canterbury.kent.sch.uk in the first instance so we can let you have your designated lines.

Please sing along to this video when recording

The deadline for videos to reach Sarah Watson is 6pm, Sunday 3rd May – so please email for your lyrics as soon as you can!

Thank you once again for your support and for your passion and empathy – let’s make this amazing!!

With our very best wishes as always,

The Performing Arts department xx
