Luke Martin stars in county athletics meet
Year 7 student, Luke Martin has performed exceptionally well in two recent athletics meetings. On July 6th, he came first in the under 13 200 metre race at Tonbridge and then on July 10th, he was able to repeat this success with another first place in a race at Dartford.
His time in the last event put him in the top 20 in the United Kingdom and fourth in the South East. His last race took place in the pouring rain which would have made running challenging but he excelled in these difficult conditions and will now be looking forward to going higher in the rankings on a fast dry track at Medway on August 7th. Luke has done very well across a number of sports in year 7 and will be part of our Key Stage 3 Sports Mentor Group next term.
His athletics success follows in the footsteps of the tremendous work being done on the track by some other students including Jamie Keir, Ollie Scott and Lauren Macey. We wish Luke and all other students competing in any sport over the summer break, the best of luck and look forward to hearing about their exploits when we return in September.
