We are incredibly proud to announce another highly successful year, congratulating all of our Sixth Form students upon their successes in the many qualifications taken, allowing them to progress on to a variety of positive destinations.
The Canterbury Academy Sixth Form is one of the largest in the country and the largest in Kent. It is a comprehensive Sixth Form for all the talents, which believes all students are good at something and in which all gifts, abilities, aptitudes, attainments and achievements should be recognised; offering students an academic pathway; elite programmes in sport; specialist provision in the performing arts; and a variety of vocational, applied and enterprise qualifications to industry standard.

Tamsyn has an offer to attend City, University of London to study Journalism and Maddie will attend The London Institute of Banking and Finance to study Finance, Investment and Risk. Kings College is where Will is going to study Film. Mia has gained a place at Christ Church to study Forensic Investigation, Josh has a place here to study Games Design and Morgan will join them to study Primary Education. Hannah will attend Queen Mary University to study Biomedical Sciences. Izzy will be studying Law at The University of Law and Iona will be studying Psychology at University of Sussex. Falmouth University is where Kiera will be attending to study English and Creative Writing and Hartpury University is where Isabelle will be studying a Human-Animal Interaction with Psychology degree. University of the Arts, London is where Nancy will be studying Fashion Communication, Journalism. Marla has a place at Loughborough University to study Sociology (with placement year) and Jess will go on to study Criminal Justice and Criminology at University of Kent. Finally, Denis is taking up his place with Bristol university to study Mechanical and Electrical Engineering.
In our Vocational Pillar, Tallulah will be studying Midwifery at University of Surrey; Lucy will be studying Paramedic Science at Greenwich and Lily will join Bath Spa to study Textile Design for Fashion and Interiors. Senay will be joining Christ Church to study LLB Law foundation degree and this is where Emily will study a Paramedic Science degree and Morgan will study Primary Education. Mia and Izzy will also be attending Christ Church to study a Nursing degree. Darcey has an offer to study Photography at Nottingham Trent whilst Brighton is where Ella will study Nursing (mental health) and Charlie will attend University of Northampton for an Advertising and Digital Marketing degree. Aimee has been accepted by De Montford University to study International Business degree and Holly will be studying at Birmingham City to become a Speech and Language Therapist.
In the Sports Pillar we have had numerous successes, including
Emile who has been accepted to study Cricket Coaching and Performance at University Centre Myerscough and Henry will be joining Bristol University of the West to study Geography whilst Jake will attend here to study Business, Management and Leadership. Sailosi who will be attending Brunel University for a Sport Health and Exercise Sciences foundation degree. Bristol University of the West will be accepting Harry on to their Sport Rehabilitation degree, Nottingham Trent University is where Andreas will be studying Business Management and Marketing and Frankie will be attending London South Bank University to study a Physiotherapy foundation degree. University of Hertfordshire is where Ryan will be studying a Sports Therapy degree and Finley is moving on to study a Healthcare with foundation degree at Worcester University.
We are also delighted to recognise the many successes of our singers, musicians, dancers and actors who attended our Elite Performing Arts Institute.
Vanessa is delighted to have been accepted into Solent University to study Popular Music Performance and Production together with Lauren who will be studying Popular Music Performance. Billie will be studying Popular Music at The University of Gloucestershire; Albair has gained a place at Institute of Contemporary Music to study Audio Engineering and Production; Aston will be starting a Musical Theatre degree at University of Surrey whilst Neve will attend University of Greenwich for a Professional Dance and Musical Theatre degree. Corina has an offer with University of Chichester for Acting for Film and Courtney will be attending here also to study Musical Theatre Performance. Franz has been accepted at University of Kent to complete a Drama and Theatre degree; University of Brighton is where Chloe will study Games Art and Design; Joe, Emily and Charlotte will all be going to BIMM to study Performing Arts and LMA is where Courtney and DP will be studying a Performing Arts degree; Bailey has been accepted to study Media at Robert Gordon University. Finally, David has a place with Rose Bruford on the Actor Musicianship degree and Melanie will study Music at University of York.
Likewise, we wish to congratulate all those students who achieved work related qualifications and will go on to begin fantastic careers that they are passionate about. We are delighted, also, for the number of students who will continue in education and those who have gone onto gain employment, in trainee management positions and various apprenticeships, or who will set up their own businesses. We look forward to hearing how they all develop in the future.
Jose has recently joined Laing O’Rourke studying for a quantity surveying degree apprenticeship and Finley has been accepted into the Army and has started his training. Following a successful work experience placement Aiden Lee has been offered an engineering apprenticeship with Showan Hydraulics and Zander has taken up a permanent Swim Instructor position. Bobby has started his Plastering apprenticeship and Laura her Hospitality apprenticeship; three students are starting Education apprenticeships, Holly with Rough Common pre-school, Aimee at Wincheap Primary and Issie has joined St Peters Primary school.
The Canterbury Academy Sixth Form, as part of The Canterbury Academy Trust, continues to provide a comprehensive Sixth form for all the talents and continues to grow. This September we expect to welcome over 350 students in to year 12, taking our total number of students to over 700.
