Dear parents and carers,
As a very long but very rewarding term finally draws to an end, I write to you with our Trust’s Pillars of Excellence Newsletter; highlighting some of our students’ most significant achievements. I hope that, as we all begin to relax into a restful break over Christmas, you may take some time with your children to flick through some of the incredible things they’ve been part of across our Trust community.
Our students have done some amazing things since I last wrote in October. Our youngest students in our City View Nurseries have been enjoying their Christmas parties – the pictures are sooooo cute! There’s been our annual Academic Awards Evening across the Trust, students completing Duke of Edinburgh and others beginning their applications to university; where some 160 began their further education journeys this autumn. We’ve seen some fantastic achievements in sport across our schools; including Mia Dixon in Year 10, playing for, scoring and captaining the England U15 football team!
In our Practical Learning Pillar our Primary School students received a brilliant workshop in photography and our skaters visited the XC Skate Park in Hemel Hempstead through our Canterbury Skate Project; where they got a chance to test their skills on a variety of different obstacles and ramps. Then, in Performing Arts, we’ve been treated to a variety of stunning performances over these last seven weeks; culminating in the official start of festivities with our Trust’s spectacular Christmas Cabaret at the beginning of December. It is always such a pleasure to spend an evening alongside so many parents and families; as we all sing, laugh, smile and sometimes even cry together, watching our children provide so many special memories and making us all so very proud.
As we move into 2025, I know it will be another busy and exciting year for us all across our Trust community of schools. There will be much to look forward to and, as always, our students, your children, will be at the heart of everything we do; inspiring us all, every day, to be the best that we can be.
It remains only for me to wish you all a restful, very merry Christmas, and thank you, as always, for your unwavering support throughout the year. We shall look forward to seeing all of our students back in their school for a normal day on 6th January.
With my very best wishes
Jon Watson
