Dear parents and carers,

As another term ends and we begin to head, hopefully, to warmer weather and longer days, I attach our end of term Pillars of Excellence Newsletter for our Trust. I hope you will enjoy reading it and celebrating our students’ achievements as much as me.

For those of us that were able to attend, last night we held our annual Trust Sports Awards evening; with special guest and Kent Cricket captain, Daniel Bell-Drummond. It was an incredible event and, as always, recognised so much that is special about our schools and the students we are privileged to work with. The applause were continuous throughout as students from our primary school, all the way through to sixth form, gratefully received awards from Daniel on stage.

There was so much talent on display from students competing on the regional, national and international stage; through to those that volunteer countless hours of their time and inspire the (even) younger generations to get involved in sports which they love and, who knows, may see them represent their country, too.

Staff in schools, headteachers and others, often speak about how students should embody the values of that institution. For us, though, we’ve always seen it slightly differently. It should, in fact, be the other way around; where schools embody the values of their students, their families and their communities. For it is you, and the communities that we continue to proudly sit at the heart of, that we work to serve. And last night embodied that so perfectly.

I wish you all a happy and relaxing half-term, and look forward to seeing our students back in our schools, bright and early, for a normal day on 24th February.

Oh…and Happy Valentine’s Day
