City and Guilds Level 2 Diploma in Beauty Therapy
What’s it about?
You will cover all the technical and non-technical units to achieve a Level 2 qualification. You will complete assessments and online tests to enhance your knowledge for all units. You will undertake work experience in a local salon.
- The aims of this qualification are to encourage students to:
- Stimulate and develop enjoyment of beauty.
- Develop and demonstrate skills, including practical and research skills.
- Develop essential knowledge and understanding of different areas of the subject and how they relate to each other.
- Appreciate how the subject develops and how combining training in-house and work experience can increase employability.
- Recognise the value of training and forging links with the industry.
Entry Requirements:
Students must have a passion for beauty. Due to the written component of the course, students are required to have a reasonable Level 2 standard of written English. Attendance, attainment and attitude must be satisfactory.

Students can progress onto the following:
- Level 3 in beauty.
- Level 3 you can progress onto becoming an assessor.
Vocation
Students can progress onto the following:
- Employment (e.g. spas, salons, cruise liners, television).
- With experience, students can eventually progress onto becoming a salon manager.
