Introduction
Level 3 Maths in Context is a versatile qualification equal in size to an AS Level. It focuses on the maths of life and the workplace making it interesting, engaging and relevant to the world we live in.
Aims of the Course
Mathematics is, inherently, a sequential subject. This course assumes students will already have confidence and competence in the content presented at GCSE Level Mathematics. This course is split into two pathways:
Compulsory Content
- Analysis of Data
- Maths for Personal Finance
- Estimation
- Critical Analysis of given data and models
Optional Content (we study option 2B)
- Critical Path Analysis
- Expectation
- Cost Benefit Analysis
Assessment
At the end of the course, you will sit 2 examination papers.
- Paper 1: Compulsory Content (1 hour 30 minutes, 60 marks)
- Paper 2: Optional Content (1 hour 30 minutes, 60 marks)
